To celebrate the World Environment Day and to make people aware about global warming and green economy, Nirvana Academy a cultural club Jammu organized a painting event among the children here today. A Theme on world environmental day was provided to the children. General Seretary Nirvana Academy Meenakshi Sharma also a teacher by profession produced a lecture in which she said that Green Economy is one whose growth in income and employment is driven by public and private investments that reduce carbon emissions and pollution, enhance energy and resource efficiency, and prevent the loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services. These investments need to be catalyzed and supported by targeted public expenditure, policy reforms and regulation changes. She also aware children about global warming. Global warming is the rising average temperature of Earth's atmosphere and oceans since the late 19th century and its projected continuation. Since the early 20th century, Earth's average surface temperature has increased by about 0.8 °C (1.4 °F), with about two thirds of the increase occurring since 1980.Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and scientists are more than 90% certain that most of it is caused by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases produced by human activities such as deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels.These findings are recognized by the national science academies of all major industrialized nations. Children used different colors and paint their imaginations on the paper.
On the conclusion of the programme the Instructor of the camp Paramjeet Kour advised the students to be always at the front to Save Environment for better future and hoped for the students to be good ambassador for saving environment
