GOLDEN GUITAR FESTIVAL DAY 2

Nirvana Academy organizes band and group contest in Golden Guitar Festival

30-05-2013, JAMMU: The two days Golden Guitar festival Season 4 came to the conclusion with Nirvana Academy a cultural club organizing the band and group competition and prize distribution function at Auditorium Govt. Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu.

 Sh. Sameer Bharti (IFS) Joint Director Soil Conservation was the chief guest while Hemu Karki “Art of Living Instructor was the special guest on the occasion. The second days, performance includes the participation of 15 bands and groups from different parts of Jammu and kashmir where young budding talent explored their talent in the competition. The Academy this year was able to spread the message of music through the strings of guitar and reached and organised contest at school level, college level, and professional level.

Puran Singh Wazir “Golden Guitar Awardee 2012” and Gautam Kotwal a noted guitarist were the judges on the occasion. Programme started with the performance of Rock band Lion of Judah, which was highly appreciated by the audience. Different genre of music like rock, pop, jazz, regional, folk and bollywood was presented by the school, college and professional bands in the competition. The mesmerized performances were followed by the speech of Secretary, Mindscape Educational and environmental trust. He threw light on various environmental issues including the preservation of water resources. 

On the occasion “Golden Guitar Award 2013” was also presented to Subhash Dey, a legendary guitarist from Kolkata. Bands and groups performed in the competition were Rescue, Invisible mode, Over the limit, Stampede (Jodhamal School band), hawk (JMPS), Stereo nights, KillSwitch, Knights and Princess, Loin of Judah, Gliterzzz, summer strings, Incredibles, Peddlers and more. Programme concluded with the guest performances of Rahul who mesmerized the audience by playing bollywood tunes on saxophone followed by a romantic number performed by Sanchit Sharma. Programme concluded with the performance of Kuldeep kumar who performed Indian classical music “raga” on Spanish guitar. Akanksha Gupta and Rahul anchored the programme. Others presented on the occasion were Hitesh Badyal President Nirvana Academy, Ashutosh Dubey, Umesh Sharma of KC Biscuits, Neeraj Sharma, Meenakshi Sharma, Nishant Vaid, Naresh Sharma, Vikas Bawa, Amritpal Singh, Anish Matoo, Sham Kumar, Andrew John, Mady, Deepak Kumar, RockStar Anmol Amla director Heritage Strings – School Of Rock, Amit Sharma, Sumit Sharma, Paramjeet Kour, Amit Verma and Prince Nagotra.

Golden Guitar Festival Day 1

26-05-2013, JAMMU: Nirvana Academy a regd. Cultural club organised solo guitar competition on the first day of “Golden Guitar Festival Season 4” with an environmental cum awareness theme “Plant a Tree Plant a Life” in collaboration with Mindscape Educational and Environmental trust here today. Keeping the tradition of exploring the talent and providing a platform to young buddings of the state, more than 110 participants took part in the Golden Guitar festival. 
Sh. Puran Singh Wazir “ Golden Guitar Awardee” and Sh. Gautam Kotwal “Owner and lead Guitarist of Mythya rock band were the judges on the occasion. Different genre of music like rock, pop, jazz,regional, folk and bollywood was presented by the school, college and professional guitarist in the competition. Guest performances by Sumit Sharma a noted guitarist of the town and vikas Bawa “brand face of GGF Season4” enthralled the audience. 
Hemu Karki “Art of Living Instructor” who conducts art excel workshops for the young children was the special invitee and chief guest on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion she said that she is so overwhelmed on seeing the indepth talent among the young kids. “Music can improve the child ability in learning and such talented children must be introduced to other self related activities so that they can learn the life, enrich skills to be confident and successful in future life. 
Art excel is a all around training development workshop has activities such as make a new friend each day and random act of kindness help children to become aware of each other’s need and encourage the integration of human values apart from developing a sense of belongingness, she added.
Ashutosh Dubey a volunteer for better India threw light on the importance of tree plantation. He also gave an awareness speech on the environmental related issues. “Culture Beat” Souvenir related to the field of music and culture was also launched on the occasion by Naresh Sharma Director, The Strings, Umesh Sharma of KC Biscuits along with the chief guest. 
Rajesh Gupta “Secretary Mindscape Educational and Environmental trust” highlighting the importance of tree plantation said that they will be distributing free saplings among the participants on the final day of the event and assured of extending all possible help for such awareness campaign. 
Hitesh Badyal President Nirvana Academy while presenting the vote of thanks said that the festival was introduced with the awareness among the society related to the environmental and social issues of moral values and the tradition shall be continued by raising the issues of awareness in future also.
Others prominent presented on the occasion were Rock Star Anmol Amla, Paramjeet Kour, Deepak kumar, Prince Nagotra, Amit Verma, kuldeep kumar, Meenakshi Sharma and Nishant Vaid
