Nirvana academy honors young women achievers on the eve of International Women's Day (IWD)



Young Women Achiever Honored on the Eve of International Women Day

Jammu, 7 March: “Inspiring Change: Human Values & Equality for women” theme marked the celebration with full gusto and enthusiasm of International Women day 2014 thereby honoring the Young women achiever today at Auditorium GCW Parade.

The event was organized by Nirvana Academy A Regd. Cultural Club & Federation of Indian Blood Donor Organization in collaboration with Government Women College Parade.

Arunima Sinha Secretary IAS wife’s Association along with other members of association was Chief Guest & Dr Hemal aggarwal Principal of The collage was Guest of Honour on the occasion. R C Puri Secretary IRCS Jammu Suhail Kazami Sr Journalist , Vikrant Dogra Vice President FIBD & Ashutosh Bajaj Business head Bharti Infratel J& K circle were the other dignitaries present on the occasion.

65 Young women Achiever of the Jammu Region of J& K were honored on the occasion for their achievements in different fields under three group categories as Award for YWA, Certificate of Excellence & Honour & Certificate of appreciation.

Under Award Category the 15 Young women were Honoured for their achievement at National and International including Tanya Gupta (Music) Kusum Tikoo (Film, Tv & Entertainment) Ifra Mushtak Kak (Drama) Dr. Meena Sidhu (Medical) Deepika Singh Rajawat (Advocate & Socialist) Priya Dutta (Dance) Juhi Mohan ( RJ/VJ) , Mansi Gupta (Fashion & Lifestyle) Akhila Magotra ( Educationist) Aarti Mahajan (Heath & Fitness) Seharish Javed (Volunteer) & Shriya (Academics).

Among the Junior Young Achievers, the award was given to Vidhi Jaswal (Indian Idol Fame) & Saishte Mahajan President National award Winner 2012) on the occasion.

Sister Anath of Saint John rehabilitation centre was honored for rendering her selfless service for Mentally Retarded children. Apart from Ms Anu (a blind) presently pursuing Master in Music & Nidihi Chowdhary (Handicapped) pursuing his studies at College level were also honored on the Occasion under Differently abled category.

The younger women achiever certificate of excellence was awarded to Chakshu Kotwal, Urvashi Sharma, Sonali Dogra,Sonam Manhas, Akansha Gupta, Urja singh, Paramjeet Kour, Rajani Sharma, Rachna Sharma, Kamal Jeet Kour, Sweety Verma, Seema Sharma, Ansheeta Sasan, Asma Ayob, Ashima Sharma, Monica Sharma, Sanyukta Koul, Parul Sharma , Muskhan , Sonia Verma & Sunita Dogra.
Lauding organizers, Arunima Sinha Secatary while speaking on the occasion said cultural of marking such remarkable events will not only boost the morale of young women but also spread the message of importance of celebration of International women day. This day encourages advocacy for women's advancement everywhere in every way. It calls for challenging the status quo for women's equality and vigilance inspiring positive change.

Dr. Hemla Aggarwal Chief guest in her address said this day is an opportunity to appreciate the remarkable contribution of women to our society. Women now are more empowered and aware of their rights and the society has accepted their stand. The society is changing and paving way for the growth of the women. The changes can be seen in the fields of education, healthcare, equality and job opportunity creates a respectful workplace that supports the wellness and diverse.

Vikrant Dogra Vice President FIBD while speaking on the occasion congratulated women achiever on the eve of International Women Day. He said “Women Empowerment and issues related to saving the girl child can only be tackled once social-economic respect is given to all women at all levels which is their natural right. He added that for women related issues society has to lead by example then only it will be easier for governments to step in for next evolution of empowerment without basic respect and dignity for women their empowerment is still a distant dream. speaking on the occasion were Sh. R.C Puri Secretary Red Cross, Hitesh Badyal President Nirvana Academy, Meenakshi Sharma Secretary Nirvana Academy, Umesh Sharma, Ashutosh Sharma, Varun Sharma HR Manager Bharti Infratel, Prof. Neeru Dalla and others.
The event also marked the Musical performances on the occasion where the young budding female artist of the city featuring Chakshu Kotwal, Urvashi Sharma, Nandni Kapoor Anu and others along with MYthya Band comprising of Goutam Kotwal (Vocal & leading Guitarist), Naveen Kotwal (Drumer) and Banu Partap Singh (Bassist) for a Extravaganza to raise awareness of the need for Human Values and equality among women.

.Vidhi Jaswal (Indian Idol fame) who sang on request of audience too enthralled audience with her foot taping numbers.
