Musical Tribute paid to great Dilrooba player Late Mool Raj Samnotra
Jammu,30 November 2014: ‘Shaam-e-Ghazal’ a programme of Urdu Ghazals in memory of Late Sh. Mool Raj Samnotra “Dilrooba player and versatile musician” was organised here today by Nirvana Academy a regd. Cultural club at K L Saigal Hall Jammu.
The atmosphere was at best when Urdu ghazals were sung by eminent Ghazal singers of the State Dr. Kewal Samnotra, Dharmesh Nargotra, Virender Kapadia, Neelam and Subash Langeh. Ghazals were written and composed by Dr. Kewal Samnotra “Waahid”. A large number of members of civil society, artists and literary fraternity besides Sohail Kazmi Senior Journalist Chief guest, Sh.Chatterpal guest of honour, Sh. Narinder Singh Ex Mayor, Krishan Lal Verma Tabla Maestro, Ravi Sharma, Jeevan Sharma, Suraj Singh, Yash Pal Yash, Vikrant Dogra Vice President FIBDO and Hitesh Badyal President Nirvana Academy witnessed the programme.
Programme commenced with the welcome speech of Hitesh Badyal President Nirvana Academy followed by the comparing of Sh. Vijay Atri who also read shayari of Dr. Kewal Samnotra “Waahid” during the ghazal programme. Dr. Kewal Samnotra is a regular T.V/Radio artist since the age of 16. He was one of the youngest approved primaries Radio Artist. He already composed and written many ghazals in Urdu and Dogri languages.
Ghazals “Hum ko toh duboo ke rakh dega” and “aapki yaad ne itne muje” sung by Dr. Kewal Samnotra and Subash Langeh enthralled the audience. Varinder sung “Hum ko aaya nahi jafa karna” followed by ghazal “ Kya cheez mohabbat hai” sung by Dharmesh Nargotra.
Nirvana Academy also awarded Sh. K.L Verma for his contribution in the field of art and music. K.L Verma also threw light on the musical journey of Late Sh. Mool Raj Samnotra. He said that Mool Raaj was the disciple of great musician Pt. Uma Dutt Sharma and Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma. He added that Mool Raj was a versatile musician and worked for AIR Jammu. He was also a great player of musical instrument “Dilrooba”.
Those who accomplished with ghazal singers included Amarjeet Singh on Violin, Sunil Sharma on flute, Vikas Naggar on guitar, Vijay Anand on percussions and Neeraj Verma on Tabla.
