Nirvana Academy organises 7th season of Pandit Uma Dutt Sharma Sangeet Mahotsav


Jammu, 28 December: Nirvana Academy today organised seventh season of musical competition in Pandit Uma Dutt Sangeet Mahotsav at city square Jammu. Sh. Krishan Lal Verma Retd. H.O.D Fine Arts College was the chief guest while Sh. Vikrant Dogra Vice Chairman FIBDO and Mr. Pradeep Dutta from Times Now was the guest of honour on the occasion. Programe was supported by Surya milks, City Square mall, Royal wedding and event planners, Heritage Strings, Federation of Indian Blood Donor Organisations and JMU plus social networking partner.

Naval Deep Kour hosted the programme, Sanchit Dewan coordinated the event and sound was designed by Anshul.
More than 120 participants from different parts of Jammu region took part in the programme. The main motive of the programme was to explore hidden talent among the children, youth and budding artists of the state so that they can be able to compete with the other talented youth of the country. Participants of Pandit Uma Dutt Sangeet Mahotsav displayed their talent in different age group categories of the competition. Sh. P.S Wazir Retd. Army officer and Golden Guitar Awardee adjudged the programme.
Hitesh Badyal President Nirvana Academy told on the occasion that Nirvana Academy had organized various such programmes earlier also and succeeded in bringing all such type of talented, budding artist under one umbrella.
Speaking on the occasion chief guest Sh. Krishan Lal Verma threw the light on the life and achievements of Pandit Uma dutt Sharma. He said that Pandit Uma dutt was born in April 1900. Pandit ji received his training in tabla and pakhawaj from his Guru Sardar Harnam Singh. Pandit ji spent 10 years under the guidance of Pt. Bade Ram Das ji at Banaras. Pandit ji was one of the few artists from Jammu, who used to give performances in vocal music from Lahore Music station. Pandit Uma Dutt Sharma gave the responsibility of taking the Santoor on the world stage to his son Pandit Shiv kumar Sharma after extensive research on its possibilities. 
Prominent among the others were Meenakshi Sharma Gen Secretary NA, Vikas Dogra Vice President Prayas, Vikul Gupta, Shivam Badyal, Paramjeet kour, Neha Verma and Nishant Vaid.

Nirvana Academy Celebrates Spirit of UN Human Rights Days


2 days Annual Skit festival 2014 concludes
Jammu, 11 Dec. 2014: To inspire youth to become valuable advocates for tolerance and peace through education in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, two days programme on human rights was organized at Auditorium Red Cross Bhawan Jammu.
The event was organized by Nirvana academy A Regd. Club in association with Indian Red Cross Society Jammu region and Federation of Indian Blood Donor Organisations. Programme was supported by Surya Milks and JMU plus Social networking partner. The two day events featured annual skit festival presented by students of various schools, theatre groups and seminar on the “Celebrating 20 years of Changing lives through Human Rights”.

Mrs Arunima Sinha GM trainings Art of living J& K and Secretary IAS Wives association was Chief Guest on the occasion along with Ravi Puri Secretary Red Cross Society Jammu region, Sohail Kazmi Senior Journalist, Vikrant Dogra Vice President FIBDO, Dr. Ashq Malik Astt. Prof. GCW Gandhi nagar was Guest of Honor on the occasion along with other dignitaries   
The capability of youth advocates was evident throughout the skits with entertainment spreading the message of peace by talented young artists representing their respective schools including BSK high School Domana, KC Public School, Dewan Devi Public School, Krishna Public School and Dr. Ambedkar Convent School. Renowned actor Vidyabushan and Neha Raina adjudged the skit competition.
Dr Ashik malik provided an overview to bring about broad-scale awareness about United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, was keynote speaker on the occasion. Special guest speakers who spoke on the topic the “Celebrating 20 years of Changing lives through Human Rights “includes Sohail Kazmi, Vikrant Dogra, R.C Puri and Hitesh Badyal
Hitesh Badyal President Nirvana Academy while interacting said that collaborative efforts with government agencies and nongovernmental organizations is need of the hour to bring about broad-scale awareness and implementation of the 1948 United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the world’s premier human rights document in true spirit. Badyal while speaking said that aim for organizing series of events in this two days awareness program is” How We Help—United for Human Rights, Making Human Rights a Reality”.
The event was crowned with an awards presentation by Mrs. Sinha
to the winners of Skit Competition, while speaking on the occasion lauded the UN’s role in bringing peace, development and human rights to the world, and reminded everyone that in India, the United Nations is on the curriculum of Classes 7 to 9.She said there is need for promotion of human rights under which many activities should be organized at school level throughout the year.
