Cultural Programme of Specially abled children organised by Nirvana Academy


International day of Person with Disabilities Celebrated
By specially Able Children



JAMMU, Dec 04: To celebrate the spirit Theme “Inclusion matters: access and empowerment of people of all abilities” 23rd International day of Persons with disabilities was today celebrated with pomp and show at Amar Singh Club Jammu. The event also marked to pledge the support in bringing The J & K State Trust Bill 2014 (National Trust Act 1999) in Jammu and  Kashmir .
The Event was organized by Disabled Care Foundation and Nirvana Academy in association with Indian Red Cross Society Jammu Region and Amar Singh Club Jammu with the support of Mindscape Educational & Environmental Trust.


Sh Rajesh Gupta MLA Jammu East was Chief Guest on the occasion while Balram Saini, Vijay Saraf Secretary Amar Singh Club, Sh. R.C Puri Secretary IRCS were the guest of honour and Rajesh Aggarwal, Vikrant Dogra Vice Chairman FIBDO, Hitesh Badyal President Nirvana Academy were special guest on the occasion.

Programme commenced with the traditional lighting of lamp in the presence of all dignitaries present on the occasion along with special children followed by the presentation of the cultural programme by especially able children.
As many as 40 Students from Specially Able schools namely Sahara Rehabilitation Centre Trikuta  Nagar Jammu, St Johan Rehabilitation Centre Mandal Jammu, Asha AWWA, Army School Ware House Jammu and  J & K Samaj Kalyan Kendra  Sahidi Chowk Jammu participated took part in the cultural Bonanza displaying their talent in solo and group performances.

Sh Umesh Gupta in his welcome address highlighted the importance of the day along with various problems being faced by the person with disabilities especially person due to lack of proper facilities for them.

Danajay Kacharu and Neha Sharma were awarded with Young Achiever Award on the occasion for their distinctive Achievement in the field of Disability where all the participants were honored with medals and schools were given Moments for participation.



 
Sh Rajesh Gupta while speaking on the occasion lauded the efforts for providing platform to these special children of god who are equally talented like normal children. He urges people to participate and contribute to the celebration to actively promote the equal rights for disabled persons as well as to support and enhance their morality.



Balram Saini while highlighting the importance of bringing of the J & K State Trust Bill 2014( National Trust Act 1999) in J & K  urged government to give the priority to address the issue of  human rights, as persons with autism, cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and multiple Disabilities face a number of obstacles when it comes to living a normal life. The implementation of act will bring number of benefits to such persons in the shape of welfare schemes.
The event organized in festive manner end with votes of thanks presented by Ravi Puri Secretary IRCS Jammu.
