Summer Activity Workshop concludes at Ramban

RAMBAN, July 18: To intensify the regional culture on national integration Nirvana Academy a cultural club regd. in collaboration with KOLHAPUR TERRIERS under the aegis of HQ 11 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, Delta Force organized the closing ceremony of Summer Activity Workshop, here today.


The programme was organized on the conclusion of the week long Summer Activity Workshop organized by Nirvana Academy for the aspirants of Dance, Singing, Theatre and Painting. Around 50 participants across the district Ramban participated in this workshop and got firsthand knowledge about the various skills of above mentioned activities.


Commander 11 Sector RR was the chief guest on the occasion whereas Zonal Resource Person (ZRP) Ramban Pawan Kumar was guest of honour and vice president Vishv Hindu Parishad (VHP) Ashish Sharma, Baldev Verma presided over the function.

Speaking on the occasion chief guest said that the children of Ramban have lot of potential and these kinds of programmes provides platform to the budding artists.

He stressed upon the role of youth in bringing peace in the state through these kinds of activities. He congratulated Chief Organisor Nirvana Academy Ramban Tahir Mushtaq for success of this workshop and advised him to continue with these types of activities.


The programme has being supported by Vishv Hindu Parishad (VHP), Department of Information and Public Relation, The Yug Bakers and Restaurant, Verma Ornaments, Hotel Ramban Regency.

Speaking on the occasion Tahir Mushtaq said that the main motive to organized this workshop is to aware the new generation about the culture and tradition through folk dance and songs.

He further said that Nirvana Academy take this opportunity to promote the talent of district Ramban.

The programme was started with the lightning of tradition lamp by the chief guest followed by the Saraswati Vandana by the participants.


The workshop participants showcased their talent in the closing ceremony. They performed folk dances, Dogri, Kashmir besides regional songs in the form of solo, duet and group performances. The candidates has got training in this workshop by trainers from Jammu includes choreographers Paramjeet Kour and Singer Chandani Kour. Simley Tanuja from Jammu enthralled the audiences with her special dance performance.


The overall event was organized by Tahir Mushtaq. The programme was anchored by Singer Meenu Puri from Bharatiya Vidya Mandir School.

'Raahde' festival concludes at Billawar

Billawar, 16 July: A month long activity 'Raahde'  culminates at village Gujjru Nagrota, Billawar, here today. Nirvana Academy a registered cultural club today organized a demonstration programme of Raahde in which young girls, ladies and children participated.


Rohit Sharma Chief organiser Billawar said that the programme has been organised to make aware the youth and children about the rich culture and heritage of Jammu region.

Krishna Devi, a local from the village highlighted the importance of 'Raahde' festival in Dogra culture. She explained that Raadhe festival is a month long activity starts on Ashaad and culminates on first of Sharwan 'Sankranti' every year.

newly wedded women, young girls sow kharif seeds in the terracotta of pitcher necks. They also decorate Raahde with natural colours in the shape of Rangoli.

Krishna Devi, Radha Devi, Renu Sharma, Sapna and Suman also presented Dogra folk song related to the festival and participants have feast together.

Nirvana Academy organizes Children Summer Activity Workshop

RAMBAN, July 11: To impart firsthand knowledge to the budding talent of district Ramban Nirvana Academy a cultural organized a 10 day long workshop in the field of dance, singing, theatre and painting under the name of Children Summer Activity Workshop (CSAW) in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, here today.


Vice president Vishv Hindu Parishad (VHP) Ramban Ashish Sharma was chief guest on the occasion and inaugurated the workshop by lightning the traditional lamp.

The programme has being supported by Vishv Hindu Parishad (VHP), Department of Information and Public Relation, The Yug Bakers and Restaurant, Verma Ornaments, Hotel Ramban Regency. Nirvana Academy has started this similar type of workshop last year and this is second in the series.

While speaking on the occasion, Ashish Sharma said that the workshop will help the children in overall personality development and also to explore their creativity. He expressed his gladness over the training which will prove beneficial for them in the years to come.

Trainers from Jammu includes choreographers and artist Paramjeet Kour, Singer Chandani Kour besides theatre artist Pooja Devi will groom the selected participants of Ramban in the workshop.

Earlier, the audition was also conducted in which judges selected the 90 participants who will undergo the 10 day workshop.

In welcome address, Chief Organisor Nirvana Academy Ramban , Tahir Mushtaq congratulated the participants for getting a chance to learn Dance, Singing, Theatre skills and painting from the experts thus taking maximum benefit of their vacations.

He informed about the basic idea of conducting such activities for the benefit of larger number of participants. He insisted on the importance of these activities for the overall development of children.

He said that such workshops will help the participants to enhance the confidence, imagination and creativity amongst the children.
